this is a "proxy" account for synth download's Sharkey instance, booping.synth.download. this is a built-in instance feature.

if one has a received a follow request, it's due to one of our users adding [the reader's] account to a "user list". this account will follow, in this case, to ensure federation properly occurs with [the reader's] posts and that everything is received.

[the reader] may decline this follow request if preferred or if one is already following someone at booping.synth.download (or vice-versa).
