About hansakwast

With over 20 years of experience as a physical geographer specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing, I am currently an Associate Professor of Open Science and Digital Innovation at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education. I also offer consultancy, training, and coaching in open source GIS through my company, QWAST-GIS. I am an active member of the QGIS community, a certified QGIS trainer, and co-founder/board member of the Dutch QGIS User Group. I have established the GIS OpenCourseWare platform, providing free course materials on QGIS, Python, Mergin Maps, Google Earth Engine, and more. I developed the PCRaster Tools plugin for QGIS, which has been downloaded over 90,000 times. I am also the co-author of “QGIS for Hydrological Applications” and run a YouTube channel with over 30,000 subscribers. As a member of QCooperative, I am well-connected with the top open source GIS developers.
